In November 2009, ARCQE hosted two provincial symposiums for the School Age Care community.  As a creative resource supporting SAC accreditation; a Community Of Practice (COP) Network was established…  Feedback and information shared by these groups featured on our home page under the What’s Going On In Your Region (Reg 03 & 06).  Wish to join these networks, email your contact information to carlae.arcqe@telus.net who will add you to the COP Social Café bulletin board in your region!

SCHOOL AGE CARE SYMOPOSIUM - Limited Space Remaining! 

There has been a great response from the community in regards to having information specific for quality school age support.  We are pleased to have Judy Caplan, co-author of Beyond the Bell: A Toolkit for Creating Effective Afterschool Programs as the presenter for the morning session.
Did you know? Your attendance at the School Age Care symposium can be added to your Quality Enhancement Work plan as a short term goal under:
 STANDARD 5:  The administrative structure supports quality program delivery.
5.3    The program has well-defined management practices that support staff.

•  There is a written job description that outlines the expectations and qualifications for each staff position in the program.

• There is a clearly communicated performance review process that includes goal setting and professional development.
